Mr. Cobbs was a principal and Managing Director of Signet Healthcare Partners for eight years and has more than twenty five years experience in the health sciences and biotechnology industries.
He presently serves on the board of directors of BioJect Medical Technologies as well as the Texas Life Science Center for the evaluation and commercialization of early stage life science companies in Texas through the $300 million Emerging Technology Fund.
Mr. Cobbs was a principal and head of healthcare investment banking at Harris, Webb & Garrison, Investment Bankers (now Sanders Morris Harris, Inc.). He has also served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Quantitative Diagnostic Laboratories, a cancer diagnostic and image analysis company based in Chicago, IL (sold to Ventana Medical Systems, now Roche Diagnostics).
Mr. Cobbs previously served as the Assistant Director of Technology Development at the University of Texas – M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. During his tenure at M.D. Anderson, he helped form two molecular therapy companies: Introgen Therapeutics, a pioneer in gene-based therapies for a variety of cancers based in Austin, Texas and Rgene Therapeutics, which was sold to Targeted Genetics, Inc.
Mr. Cobbs received his M.B.A. from the University of Houston.
